The results of the good roads convention may be summed up as follows:  Effected organization of state good roads association and provided for holding of county road meetings.  Recommended law requiring boards of supervisors to submit to the public the proposition for bids for road structure above a certain sum.  Recommended a law permitting the electors of a township to vote a special tax for concrete or stone culverts.  Recommended a law providing for the removal of trees, the roots of which obstruct road tile, and gave new impetus to good roads movement in Iowa and helped awaken public sentiment for road reform.  (The Walnut Bureau, Friday, March 18, 1910, p. 6)
