WGS QUERIES

By Barb Butcher, WGS Corresponding Secretary

In the midst of some extensive remodeling and moving us to a new room at the Walnut Public Library, we have still found time to assist summer visitors with their genealogy searches.  We have had a number of visitors stop by the room, and we have also had a number of queries through the mail.  Ruby Anderson, Karen Hansen, and Gayle Stuart have played a BIG role in helping with these queries.

Summer visitors and the surnames they were searching include the following:

1) John Behrens from Washington searching Behrens and Kohlscheen

2)  Myron & Rebecca Northrup from Nebraska searching Galvin and Northrup

3) Ronald & Nancy Spangler from Arizona searching I. T. Spangler and Harriet Hector.

4) Lee & Marlene Overton from Iowa searching Brindley, Overton, Carstens, Clark, Pauley, Fennern and Hansen

5) Wilma Schmitt Family from Minnesota searching Schmitt and Fischer

6) Renee Pence from Wyoming searching Lamer

7) Beverly Jones from Iowa searching Lafrenz and Storm

8) Henry Storm from New York searching Storm

9) Janet Nystrom from South Dakota searching Johannsen and Namanny.

Some recent written queries include the following:

1) Darrel Boken from Colorado searching Boken-Bohnk-Boeknk, Dau, Danker, Kay, and Wolff

2) William Rasmussen from California searching for pictures of various Walnut churches and businesses plus location information.

3) Beth Zaring from Ohio searching Eli Clayton & family, Woodward, Hopper, and Wheeler

4) Barbara Jarvis from Oregon searching Thos. Bunker & daughter.

5) Joy Wood from Colorado searching Anna Nelson Trook and her parents, Jens Nelson and Caroline Hansen.

We have been corresponding by e-mail with the following:

1) Jean Thisius from Minnesota searching Johannsen, Diedricksen, and Stamp

2) Roy Hogan from Arizona searching Johannsen.

We have been able to supply a good amount of information to a number of these researchers.  If you have any information or think you can help any of these individuals with information at your disposal, we would be most grateful!
