WGS FIELD TRIP TO IRWIN

On June 23 eight members of the Walnut Genealogy Society and guest Wanda Sornson went to Irwin to visit the C. G. Brisee Genealogy Library. Owner and WGS member Adrian Brisee told about the history of his acquisition of the old Irwin school and his genealogy collection. We were free to explore his extensive collection of family histories, obituaries, cemetery records, maps, state reference materials, and countless more historical books. We also got to enjoy 2 rooms full of the dolls that Adrian’s wife, Leslie Brisee, creates, dresses and uses in her beautiful dioramas.
A delicious pot luck lunch was shared and enjoyed in the library.
