VISITORS AND QUERIES

BY KAREN HANSEN

Sheila Stepko from Kilmarnock, Virginia visited seeking information on her relatives Henry and Christina VOLLSTEDT and family.  We found them in the German Lutheran Church records, the 1895 Census, articles in the newspaper and in Walnut Memoirs.  They owned the building at 301 and 303 Antique City Drive, which included 608 Highland Street and was called the Vollstedt building.  She was given photos of the current building and photos from 1881, 1897, and 1912.

I have continued to help Arnold Carbuhn with his CARBUHN, BURMEISTER, BEYER and SCHEEF families.  Information and photos of Herbert and Evelyn PETERSEN were found for Lexie Thomas.  Kaye Scott Roy had a query on facebook about the home of Norman HOLST, where she had lived as a girl.  A photo of the house at 609 Walnut Street and some family information was shared with Kaye.

Ron and Kevin ANDRESEN and family visited Walnut on March 8.  They came to see the Andresen tombstones at the Layton Township Cemetery.  They were very happy with the work that was done on the large Andresen stone.  Jim Hansen showed them other family stones and Rick Blum gave them a tour of the museum.  I have been researching for Ron Andresen for several years.
