IN LOVING MEMORY OF LONGTIME WGS MEMBER DARLENE ROSS

Darlene Ann Ross passed away on Monday, February 4, 2024 at 1:23 a.m. in Kirkland, Washington. She was born on October 21, 1933, in Walnut, Pottawattamie County, Iowa to Harry Hass and Leona May (Deen) Hass. She was joined by siblings Harry Edward, Liane Alice, and Robert Allen.

Darlene attended Walnut schools and graduated in 1951. While in school, she was in many plays and joined the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls.  Darlene attended Commercial Extension College during 1951. She completed her Bachelor of Arts at City University in Seattle, Washington in 1985.  

On May 31, 1953, Darlene and Donald G. Ross were married. They were blessed with four children: Douglas A., Daniel G., Donalee J., and Duane J.

Darlene worked for Kaiser Aluminum and retired from buying as the Contract Administrator for Boeing 747/767 in 1990.

Genealogy, watching her beloved Seahawks, Tampa Bay Lightning and later the Chicago Blackhawks were her passions later in life. She spent many hours coloring with all her grandchildren; all have stories about “keeping the colors inside the lines.”

Darlene was preceded in death by all of her siblings and their spouses as well as her son Daniel in 1980 and her husband, Donald, in 2006. Surviving Darlene are her children, Douglas Ross, Donalee (Cory) Betts, Duane (Dawn) Ross, and Cindy (Merle) Meyers; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on June 24, 2024 at Floral Hills Cemetery, Lynnwood, Washington.
