MY GRANDPARENTS’ WEDDING

“A DECEMBER WEDDING

Miss Nora Linkletter and Mr. Jerry Glissman Take the Nuptial Vows

Miss Nora Linkletter of near Lewis and Mr. Jerry Glissman of this place, were united in marriage at Council Bluffs, Wednesday afternoon, December 12, 1917. They were attended by his sister, Miss Helen Glissman, and the bride’s brother, John Linkletter.

The bride is a very popular young lady and has been reared since childhood on the farm near Lewis, and is a young lady of sterling worth.

The groom is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Glissman, one of the most highly respected families of Lincoln township. He was born and reared in this community and is a young man of good habits and stands well in the community in which he resides.

The young couple are taking a wedding trip to several points of interest in Illinois and Indiana. They will return about January 1st and will be at home after that date on his father’s farm south of town, where they will make their home for the future.

The Bureau joins with the many other friends of this worthy young couple in extending to them its hearty congratulations and best wishes.” (The Walnut Bureau, December 20, 1917, p. 1)
